Tasmanian football continued to entertain over the past weekend, with all premier leagues around the state in action once more.
NTFA Premier League - North Launceston vs Longford, Launceston vs Scottsdale
On Friday night, the senior men’s teams from North Launceston and Longford did battle under lights at UTAS Stadium.
North Launceston started well on their home deck, kicking 3.3 to the Tigers’ 1.2 in the opening quarter.
The Bombers kicked away in the second term, notching 6.9 to a lone behind from Longford to lead by 57 points at half-time.
Despite their inaccuracy in front of goal, the Bombers continued to kick away in the second half, taking their lead out to 74 at the last change.
In the end, North Launceston cruised to a mammoth 17.24 (126) to 3.5 (23) victory over Longford.
North Launceston’s Brandon Leary (seven goals, 18 disposals) and Beau Nash (six clearances, seven tackles, 38 disposals) were superb in red and black.
Meanwhile, Longford’s Casey Brown (six tackles, six clearances, 20 disposals) and Deagan Madden (one goal, seven clearances, 16 disposals) played with pride for the Tigers.
The following day, Launceston and Scottsdale’s senior women’s sides faced off at Windsor Park.
Both sides notched a major in the first quarter, however Scottsdale held a very slender one-point lead at quarter-time.
Neither side registered a goal for the remainder of the match, however both sides battled strongly throughout.
Ultimately, Launceston eked past Scottsdale to a hard-fought 1.6 (12) to 1.5 (11) win on their home turf.
Launceston’s Kelsie Hill (five tackles, eight one-percenters, 26 disposals) and Grace Le Fevre (17 tackles, 24 disposals) were excellent for the victors.
For Scottsdale, Dearne Krushka (eight marks, eight clearances, 37 disposals) and Alex Hall (six inside-50s, seven tackles, 23 disposals) battled hard for the visitors.

NWFL Premier League - Circular Head vs Wynyard
In the North West, Circular Head and Wynyard’s senior men’s and women’s teams resumed hostilities in a double-header at the former’s home ground.
The women’s game took place first, with the visitors piling on five goals to a single point in the opening term.
Wynyard extended their notable quarter-time lead to 43 points at the main break after adding a few more goals to their tally in the second quarter.
The Cats continued on their merry way in the second half, kicking an unopposed 3.4 in the third term.
In the end, it was a rather dominant 12.7 (79) to 1.4 (10) victory for Wynyard over Circular Head.
The men’s game began soon after, and Wynyard took an early advantage after kicking four goals to one in the first term.
The home side struck back in the second quarter, kicking five goals to two and drawing the ledger even at 6.6 apiece at the half.
Wynyard retook the lead in the third term, kicking three goals to two for the interval to lead by seven points at three-quarter-time.
The final quarter was an enthralling affair, however a goal after the siren from Circular Head’s Jacob Hamill saw the game end in a draw, with both sides locked at 12.12 (84) each.

SFL Premier League - Clarence vs Kingborough
And in the south, Clarence and Kingborough’s men’s and women’s senior sides skirmished at Ninja Stadium.
The men’s teams faced off first, and Clarence put the Tigers to the sword early with seven goals to one in the first term.
The Roos continued on in the second quarter, kicking three goals to one to lead by 50 points at the half.
In the face of a big deficit, Kingborough gave a spirited effort in the third term, kicking five goals to one to reduce the margin to 24 points at three-quarter-time.
Despite a strong second half, the Tigers could not overcome Clarence, who were victorious 13.12 (90) to 8.13 (61).
Josh Green (six goals, 16 disposals) and Baxter Norton (two goals, 11 clearances, 46 disposals) were brilliant for the Roos in their win over Kingborough.
For the Tigers, Mitchell Brouwer (one goal, seven inside-50s, 39 disposals) and Lachlan Clifford (six marks, seven tackles, 39 disposals) stood tall in defeat.
The women’s sides did battle later in the evening, with the visiting Kingborough notching 3.1 to Clarence’s 1.2 in the opening quarter.
The Tigers remained in control in the second term, kicking two goals to one and extending their lead to 20 points at the half.
Both sides only managed one goal apiece in the third term, however Kingborough slightly furthered their lead to 23 points at the final break.
Ultimately, Kingborough were too good for the Roos, winning 8.9 (57) to 4.3 (27).
