AFL Victoria is proud to partner with the Love the Game Sporting Club Program, taking a bold stand against the normalisation of gambling in sport - because sport is better without betting.
This May is Love the Game month - your club's chance to join AFL Victoria, Football Victoria and Netball Victoria in raising awareness about the risks of sports betting and protecting young people from gambling harm.
Children are growing up surrounded by gambling promotions that make it seem like betting on sport is normal. This is a concern, with young men (18–24 years) now the largest group of sports bettors in Victoria and participation by young women on the rise too.
Hosting a Love the Game Round is easy!
- Pick a weekend of local footy in May (from Saturday 17 May onwards)
- Register your club's Love the Game round online
- Love the Game will provide your club with a free resource kit with everything needed to host the round
- Share the message with your players and supporters to get them involved
