The Superkick Program

NAB AFL Superkick sessions run for approximately one hour and are split between skill games and activities focused on developing skills and confidence of Superkickers. These skills are then put into action in tackle-free, modified match play each and every week.

Bring the energy! This is where participants lift the energy/vibe and get moving in skill based warm up games.

Here the focus is on play, movement, and fun!

Participants use and develop their skills in fun skill-based games and in a variety of different scenarios.

Activator activities aim to develop fundamental skills of participants and get them ready for match play.

Before putting their skills into matches, participants replicate real game situations that they will experience during games.

Here, they learn about teamwork and communication which support their readiness to move into match play.

Participants explore the game of Australian Rules Football through Modified match play.

Teams consists of only 6–9 players, allowing more touches of the football for all. With three zones on the field, all players get a chance to experience all positions.

Program Progression

Auskick and Superkick programs are based on four sequential levels, designed to be delivered over four (or more) years of participation. Each level aims to build on the previous, by adjusting the total time spent on key activity types and skills, progressing players from learning the basics through to preparing for the transition to Junior Football.

Auskick combines level 1 and 2. Superkick combines:

  • Level 3: Ages 7–9
  • Level 4: Ages 10–12

HOW CAN PARENTS/GUARDIANS GET INVOLVED?

The Centre Coordinator is the backbone of the NAB AFL Superkick community.

Combining passion, training and communication, this role is perfect for anyone keen to make an impact while living the Game’s core values. There is much to like about the Superkick program as a Parent/Guardian for your child. There's even more to like, knowing you’re able to support and get involved!

Similar to NAB AFL Auskick, Parents and Guardians can get involved as an activity helper, match umpire or goal umpire!
If you are interested in becoming a Coordinator or getting more involved as centre support crew, you can contact your local centre. Additionally, check out this fact sheet.
